OUR TECHNOLOGIES

CELL-BASED ASSAYS

Scorpius can support adapted or customized cellular assays to fully characterize or evaluate the efficacy and safety of your therapeutic product. Cell-based assays offer a relevant representation of a real-life model that can evaluate a variety of functional and biochemical effects. This enables the tracking of a number of variables, such as:

  • Number of cells or their behavior
  • Cell proliferation
  • Apoptosis
  • Signal transduction
  • Enzyme activity
  • Reporter gene activity
  • Antibody- (ADCC) and complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC)
  • Neutralizing antibodies (NAb)

Our team has developed and optimized cellular assays using both primary and transformed cell lines and can validate custom cell-based assays following regulatory guidelines and recommendations. Scorpius offers a diverse range of innovative platforms for any type of cell-based work that allows for multiplexing and automation for increased assay throughput and reproducibility. Our scientists will help you choose the method to optimally support your distinct cell-based assay parameters.

IMMUNOASSAYS

Immunoassays play a critical role in biopharmaceutical analysis and QC release testing. Scorpius has experience developing a wide range of methods providing quantitative, semiquantitative or qualitative detection of a variety of analytes. Immunoassay method development and the design of our method validations are tailored to meet both client and regulatory requirements. We utilize a range of analytical methodologies and are experienced in working with clients on the generation and qualification of critical immunoassay reagents.

The immunoassays available from Scorpius BioManufacturing include:

qPCR MOLECULAR ASSAYS

Scorpius leverages real-time PCR, also known as quantitative PCR (qPCR), to support the pre-clinical and clinical phases of therapeutic development. Our instrumentation enables simultaneous measurement of multiple DNA amplification reactions in a single reaction vessel, making it possible to process a large number of samples simultaneously. This also enables reaction volumes at nanoliter levels, substantially reducing and therefore saving reagents and samples needed to perform the testing.

Our scientific team offers a wealth of expertise in the development, optimization and validation of complex molecular assays using conventional and quantitative PCR.

BIOANALYTICAL METHODS

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is one of the most widely used testing techniques, from early stage development to final product characterization and QC release testing. Scorpius' team offers extensive experience in HPLC methods development, qualification and validation.

Scorpius offers Biacore™ biomolecules interaction analysis using our Biacore™ T200. This is a versatile and precise surface plasmon resonance (SPR) system that enables the analysis of a wide range of molecular interactions.

Fluorescence microscopy is a highly sensitive, specific and reliable technology for the localization of biomolecules and cells. Fluorescence imaging is reasonably gentle on the sample, which facilitates the visualization of molecules and dynamic processes in live cells. We find it is the most popular method for studying the dynamic behavior exhibited in live cell imaging.
